Welcome to the first entry in this blog from AAPL’s 2018 Physician Leadership Summit. We hope you will check back often to keep up with the many happenings scheduled over the next six days at the Boston Sheraton. We’ll begin posting regular updates Friday morning.

This week marks an experiment of sorts for us at AAPL. As you may know, as a complement to our award-winning Physician Leadership Journal, we went live late last year with a news website, which presents daily articles and educational information for health care leaders and aspiring leaders.

Beginning today, we debut live coverage on the news site from one of the association’s major gatherings, a significant step in connecting to our membership and the health care industry at large.

The Summit, formerly known as the Spring Institute and Annual Meeting, includes those two events and other components, including education sessions, the Beyond Burnout & Resilience workshop, a new Thought Leadership Symposium, peer presentations, panel discussions, the reactivation of our Vanguard program for elite physician leaders, and a convocation to recognize seasoned CPE leaders during the 20th anniversary of the credential.

It’s certainly a lot to keep track of, and we know attendees won’t attend every presentation or educational offering. This blog will try to fill you in on what you might be missing. In addition, the news site will produce daily news and features articles from Summit events.

So bookmark us as soon as you check in.

The blog can be found at physicianleaders.org/blog.

The news website is at news.physicianleaders.org.

For over 45 years.

The American Association for Physician Leadership has helped physicians develop their leadership skills through education, career development, thought leadership and community building.

The American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL) changed its name from the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) in 2014. We may have changed our name, but we are the same organization that has been serving physician leaders since 1975.
