Abstract

This article explores the significant impact of words on our lives, emphasizing the power of positive affirmations in shaping our life direction. It connects this concept to neurolinguistic programming, suggesting that speaking and acting in alignment with desired outcomes can rewire our brains for success. The article also offers a six-step approach to manage negative thoughts and emotions: refraining from unnecessary speech; active listening; resting the mind; understanding biases; cultivating empathy; and promoting positivity. Implementing these strategies enables better control of thoughts and words, leading to a more fulfilling and successful life.

For over 50 years.

The American Association for Physician Leadership has helped physicians develop their leadership skills through education, career development, thought leadership and community building.

The American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL) changed its name from the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) in 2014. We may have changed our name, but we are the same organization that has been serving physician leaders since 1975.
