Brigadier General John M. Cho, MD, CPE, FAAPL, FACS, US Army (Retired), is the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for AMSUS, The Society of Federal Health Professionals. Upon assuming his leadership role in January 2018, Cho executed a successful organization turnaround with six consecutive years of positive revenue and earnings, individual and corporate membership growth, and collective in-person and virtual event attendance growth. Organized in 1891 and chartered by Congress in 1903, AMSUS is a 501(c) (3) non-profit membership-based organization, the voice for federal health professionals and advocate for interagency healthcare collaboration among the Department of Defense, Veterans Affairs, Health and Human Services and Homeland Security. Cho also serves as the Publisher for Military Medicine, the peer-reviewed International Journal of AMSUS.

As an Executive Partner, he served as a trusted advisor, mentor and business partner for CEOs, CIOs, CFOs as well as physicians in strategic positions for the largest US Federal Government Departments and Agencies- to include the healthcare community. Given that there are over 20,000 associates at Gartner, he was truly humbled to serve as the Executive Programs Chair for (Chief Information Officer) CIO Leadership Forum, North America for three years (2020-2022).
