Lydia A. Watson,M.D. , is the President & CEO at MyMichigan Health.
While serving with MyMichigan Health, her leadership excellence has been affirmed by her roles, including Chief Medical Officer, Chief Quality and Safety officer for MyMichigan Health, Chief of staff, Vice President of Medical Affairs, as well as Board Member of MyMichigan Medical Center – Midland. She also is a member of the Joint Operating Council of Michigan Medicine, the health care division of the University of Michigan. Prior to joining the administrative staff for MidMichigan in 2013, Dr. Watson cared for thousands of women as a practicing Obstetrician-Gynecologist .
Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Watson received both her undergraduate and graduate training from Wayne State University School of Medicine. She also served six years in the Army National Guard 207th EVAC Hospital.
Dr. Watson is currently a board member of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association. In addition, she is very active in her community and currently serves on the Charles Strosacker Family Foundation Board of Trustees and previously served on the Shelterhouse of Midland/Gladwin Board and The Legacy Center Board. She is a member of the Midland 100 Women’s Club and served as medical director for the SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) Program. She also has received numerous accolades, including the Midland Are Chamber of Commerce Athena Award, and, most recently, the 2020 YWCA Woman of the Year in Healthcare Award.
