Advanced Behavior Management Strategies

Self-Study

This course is intended to facilitate a deepened understanding of behavior management within the context of leadership in healthcare organizations. In order for a healthcare system to consistently provide favorable outcomes to patients, it must possess an organizational culture that optimizes interpersonal dynamics. As it relates to physician leaders, the charge to establish and maintain such a culture largely falls on their shoulders.

It's with that understanding that AAPL has designed the Advanced Behavior Management Strategy Course. The curriculum offers insights, case studies, and learning activities that will expand your knowledge base around leadership and navigating conflict, as well as strengthen your ability to identify, analyze, and manage disruptive behaviors. Growth in these areas can offer benefits in numerous domains of your medical career, including the ability to improve behavior management procedures and deepen relationships with staff and patients.

When you enroll in this course, you will also receive a copy of the book “Physicians and Professional Behavior Management Strategies,” which is authored by the course instructor and serves as the foundation for course content.

For those seeking to truly develop mastery in the areas of behavior and physician management, this course offers a great synergy with our courses Resolving Conflict, Managing Physician Performance, and The Emotionally Intelligent Physician Leader.

The American Association for Physician Leadership has helped physicians develop their leadership skills through education, career development, thought leadership and community building.

The American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL) changed its name from the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) in 2014. We may have changed our name, but we are the same organization that has been serving physician leaders since 1975.
