Building and Leading Effective Teams

Self-Study

In-Person

Recently refreshed to address the challenges of remote work during the Covid-19 pandemic, this course is one of the most important for Physician Leadership. This course helps Physician Leaders sharpen competencies like team building, people management, and collaborative function.

Examining topics like “the 4 defining attributes of a team”, “recruitment, sourcing and interviewing”, and “change management”, this curriculum will help physicians gain insight into the building, management and culture surrounding teams in the healthcare organizations in which they work.

Ultimately, Building and Leading Effective Teams covers strategies and tactics to recognize the traits and norms of effective leadership styles, to recruit members that will result in competent team chemistry, and to overall promote and assist efficient teamwork in the face of external and internal challenges.

The American Association for Physician Leadership has helped physicians develop their leadership skills through education, career development, thought leadership and community building.

The American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL) changed its name from the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) in 2014. We may have changed our name, but we are the same organization that has been serving physician leaders since 1975.
