Informatics Foundations In-Person Accelerator
In-Person
Healthcare is undergoing rapid digital transformation, and physician leaders are increasingly called to guide how informatics improves care, efficiency, and innovation. This foundational course is designed for physicians and healthcare professionals stepping into informatics, leadership, or transformation roles.
Participants will explore the strategic value of clinical informatics and learn how the physician voice shapes governance, decision-making, and adoption. Through interactive case studies, faculty dialogue, and real-world applications, learners will build practical skills in data interpretation, change leadership, and team collaboration. By the end of the program, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and confidence to support informatics-driven improvements in their organizations.
Pre-Work: “Your Informatics Landscape” Participants will complete a short reflection (1–2 pages) describing:
• Their current role and exposure to clinical informatics.
• One informatics-related challenge, opportunity, or transformation initiative occurring in their organization.
• Key stakeholders involved and any past attempts to address the issue.
Post-Work: “Informatics Action Plan”
After the course, participants will:
• Select a specific challenge or improvement area from their pre-work.
• Draft a 1–2 page action plan outlining:
o Goals and metrics of success.
o Stakeholders to engage.
o Next steps informed by course learning (e.g., governance alignment, analytics strategy, team collaboration).
• Identify one mentor or internal partner to review the plan with them post-program.
A survey will be sent 30, 60, and 90 days after the course to track conclusion
