Hundreds of physician leaders traveled to Arizona to participate in education and networking opportunities during the American Association for Physician Leadership’s 2017 Fall Institute, Nov. 3-7.
Physicians spent time in classrooms working on leadership competencies, but there was plenty of time to interact and exchange information with peers. The five-day gathering at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale included a wine tasting, a yoga class, as well as a reception and luncheon and more.
In addition, more than 30 people took part in the first Beyond Burnout & Resilience symposium. Participants focused on “healing the healers,” developing long-term solutions to physician burnout and beginning a social movement for physician wellness. Attendees spent time outside the classroom, experiencing the desert up close.
Planning ahead? The association’s 2018 Winter Institute is scheduled for Jan. 25-28 in Orlando, Florida.
