The Self Coaching Team
In-Person
Health care teams work in an environment which demands uncommon reliability and flexibility, with recurring and unpredictable task demands. In recent years the science of high-performing teams has surfaced helpful insights for teams and leaders of teams, but health care teams themselves are often moving so fast, with experienced personnel migrating off and new, untested ones moving on, that it can be challenging to stay focused on maintaining and supporting high-performance—and team energy—in the throes of a team’s demands. Enter the self-coaching team, the team with the skills and know-how to support, develop, and sustain team and individual performance and vitality “on the fly.”
Amid the rapid-fire pace and complexity of health care environments, the “self-coaching” team creates a performance and engagement advantage, able to learn faster and easier to the benefit of internal participants and external clinical colleagues, administrative counterparts, and patients and families.
In this course, participants will learn key tools and techniques for creating a transparent environment for self-improvement at the team level with the linked goals of driving performance and results alongside energy and trust within the team. The interactive, case-based format of the course will support course attendees with abundant opportunities to design their team’s self-coaching approach with the goal of creating new patterns of thought and action to drive better results and a healthier team.
